Intermediate Glass Fusing 8/20, 27- 9 to 12
Presented by Janine Stillman
Saturdays, August 20 & 27
9:00 a.m. to Noon.
Available on backorder
In this two session class, students will create an 8" dish that will hone your skills for both geometric glass cutting as well as the creation of free-form glass pattern shapes. In the first session, you will create a subtle geometric background that resembles a quilt pattern using the Morton glass cutting system. Angles and fit and finish will be taught to put together a tightly fitting pattern. To create the focal image of your dish, pattern tracing and cutting of free form shapes will be explored with focus on precision and tools used to easily fashion a detailed image in glass.
Some glass cutting experience is required. Students must be relatively adept at and unafraid of glass scoring and breaking.
No make-up classes will be offered. Be sure you are available for both sessions.
Please allow 7 to 10 days for firing of the pieces. You will have to return once the final kiln firing has been completed to pick up your creations.
CDC guidelines pertaining to COVID will be enforced.
