Reviews

“Totally loved Janine’s class! She not only taught all she knows about glass combing, but helped numerous people in the class with their cutting systems. She was patient and encouraging when needed and prodding when appropriate. I can’t recommend Janine more and hope to come to her future workshops.” -Linnea S.

“I would highly recommend any classes taught by Janine Stillman. I recently took a 2-day combing class and it was worth every penny and then some! Janine is an organized, energetic and supportive teacher and is fun to be around. As a fused glass artist for about 14 years, glass combing has always fascinated me, but I’ve been too chicken to try it and now I’m hooked! I’m hoping to be able to take more classes from Janine in the future.” -Denise E

“Your teaching style, professionalism, creativity, and wealth of knowledge was over the top. Today, the students came to pick up their pieces. They all said your class was the best they’ve ever had and look forward to taking more classes from you. You’re an amazing and generous artist, teacher and now a friend.” -Linda B. (Studio owner)

What began as an artistic escape from a rigorous science-based Master’s program has evolved into full-time fun as I enjoy sharing my love of glass with students. With a foundation of over 30 years’ experience working with stained, lampworked and fused glass and my endless desire to experiment with new techniques I am uniquely qualified to share warm glass basics, as well as advanced topics with students of all levels. I own and operate a fused glass teaching studio in Arroyo Grande, California, where I frequently offer classes and workshops when I am not lecturing and instructing across the country.
